Although Stacey and Tanya were really cousins, they had lived together for about eight years when they were growing up, and so thought of each other as being more like sisters. Stacey lived with Tanya's family in South Australia. She was only twenty-two years of age when her life was tragically taken from those who loved her.
Tanya told me that it was because of Stacey that she, and others close to her, believed in spirituality, angels and guides and life here-after. She believes it was a great gift that Stacey left them all. I think it's wonderful when we can truly see the gifts.
When Tanya came to me and asked me to paint Stacey as an angel, I felt very humble and honoured to be given the task. As I meditated with Stacey's photo, I felt the gentleness of her spirit and the words that came through were very powerful. "I am one with the Earth, I am one with the Light. I am Life. I am Peace." I felt that this message was to let Tanya know that she is now in a beautiful space of love and healing.
I truly believe (know) that our loved ones who have passed over help to guide us to the right people at the right time in order to help us heal our loss, for in doing so, they are also being healed.
I placed Amethyst on Stacey's painting, to help her hold the energy of inner peace and spiritual awakening. Every time Tanya and her family look at this painting, I hope it will help them to see Stacey in a new light, to bring peace and healing to their hearts.
I believe it is a very important step in dealing with grief, when we see our loved ones as how they are now, instead of focusing on the tragic circumstances that took them away from us. The latter is in the past and brings us much pain and sorrow, which can ultimately destroy us if we dwell on it too often.
The way to healing (I believe) is to develop a relationship with your loved one in the NOW. Let them know that you still love them and know in your heart that they are with you, every time you think of them. Thank them for the gifts they have given you and allow them to move on. Tell them that you will be alright and that they are now free to come and go as they wish. There is no greater gift you can offer. They will still come to you when you think of them, as there is no such thing as separation or death. We are LIFE itself.
