Father and Son Bonding Time.

Yesterday, while having a cappuccino with Chris, I noticed a man in his mid 30’s having brunch with his around 8 yo son. Before they ate, with heads bowed, they both made a sign of the cross 3 times.

The exchange between the two of them was precious. They laughed and chatted together like two mates. The father was absolutely engaging with his son. While most around us were scrolling, these two were happiest with each other.

As we were leaving I stopped by their table.

‘I would like to thank you for being such a beautiful father,’ I commented to him.

‘You are teaching your son to grow up exactly like you, kind, generous and loving.’

He put both hands on to his heart and said I had made his day… he had tears in his eyes.

I gazed down into his son’s huge dark eyes and saw our future is safe in his hands and heart.

‘If there were more fathers like you in our world of violence, oh what a beautiful world it would be! Keep loving your family. Stay kind. And most of all, never be afraid to share your light.

‘May God bless you,’ were my last words.

After a hug, Chris and I continued on our way.

If there are any fathers reading this post, try to spend some quality time with your sons. Teach them to be gentle of heart, kind, respectful and unafraid of their emotions. It all begins with you as their primary guide.

In gratitude and love eternally for the honour of meeting this beautiful father and son.  xxx
