Winding Back the Clock

I was speaking to a young teenager yesterday. I was so surprised to hear her say, the world is moving too fast for her! She was eating Macca’s, while scrolling on her phone.
‘Wait until you get to my age. You have moments, wishing time would pause… just for a little while, to catch up with all the constant movement.’
I thought about our chat. Was life any different when I was young?
As a little kid though, growing up in the country, life did move fast… because we were always so busy! Fresh air was our iPad. Made-up games, our TV. Riding our bikes everywhere, was our exercise. Bob-a-job from neighbours, was our pocket money. Or a way of raising money for a Brownies or Scouts. We had a huge back yard, with a fabulous vegetable garden. I can still smell and taste the fresh peas, while shelling them and watching them bounce into the bowl, if they got that far! Dad and Mum didn’t need to entertain us… we were always creating our own entertainment.
Our days were always joyfully full.
In gratitude and love eternally for remembering these carefree times in my life. It’s quite healing, xxx
