You Are the Special Occasion.

I remember back to one evening when I was invited to a friend’s home for dinner. On my arrival, I saw he had the table set with bone China, crystal glassware, silver cutlery, and flowers in a beautiful vase. The table was covered with a linen cloth with matching napkins! Wow! I thought. This is special indeed.

‘Gosh, this all looks so beautiful,’ I commented, very impressed indeed.

‘Oh, I do this all the time,’ he answers.

‘ALL the time? Everyday?’

‘Why not! If I can’t spoil myself, then who can I spoil? Besides, why keep such beauty trapped inside a box or cupboard.’

I went home that evening and took out my own special things. I was living on my own, so I guess I became a little lazy with my eating habits. From the next morning onwards, until I met Chris, I continued with his beautiful ritual.

I look forward to unpacking my special things again, so Chris and I can sit at such a glorious table.

And in the meantime, we do make sure we bring alive as many special occasions as we can. We don’t need a table of finery to accomplish this!

In gratitude and love eternally for this glorious lesson from my friend. xxx
