Most of us do not know how to look inwards. We are so busy in a world with constant demands, we don’t seem to take the time to stop and smell the roses, even for a second.
I have been forced to have down time with an illness that doesn’t allow me to be filled with the vibrant energy I wish for. However, during these past few years of down time, I have written seven, almost eight books, been an active Jen-ma, concentrated on my celebrant’s work and best of all, spent time to get to know me.
I have become a hermit in many ways. I have found I don’t need to be surrounded by people or things to make me happy. I have found complete harmony in my solitude. To feel peaceful in a world of chaos has been so magical for the healing of my heart and soul.
Through the week I was asked to be a celebrant at a memorial service for a 55 y.o. lady who has just passed over with cancer.
Fifty five! That is still so young!
I am 65 in September, I thought to myself! I still have so much life to live and dreams to complete. I asked the husband of the lady who has died if she had the chance to make peace with her heart? They had just returned from a holiday in Fiji. He said it was the best time they had shared together. They didn’t concentrate on her disease, they just spent time loving and enjoying their last few weeks together as a couple.
Why wait until you are given a death sentence to find that beautiful place God built for us… the temple within, the heart, to find yourself, your peace, your harmony, your self-love?
In a way this lady was blessed. She had been given time to get her house in order and complete her life and wishes. It doesn’t always happen that way. Death can creep up on us like a thief in the night, giving us no warnings or preparation.
Try to take some time today, right now, and get to know what lives inside of your heart. Take some deep breaths into your heart and breathe peace and harmony into it…breathe in pink and green to bring balance and love into that space that is so filled with sadness, grief, anger, frustrations, disharmony, lack of self love, respect, esteem. Breathe out all those negative emotions that don’t need to take up precious space and fill it up with all the love you can give.
You deserve this for you are pure love. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.
